The Delaware State Police have arrested 44-year-old Kyleef Watts of Bridgeville, Delaware for DUI and felony drug charges following a traffic stop that took place yesterday afternoon in Bridgeville.

On May 7, 2023, at approximately 5:08 p.m., a trooper on patrol observed a white Nissan Murano traveling northbound on Coverdale Road north of Fisher Circle. A computer check of Murano’s tag showed that the registration had been suspended by the Division of Motor Vehicles for the car not being insured. The trooper stopped the Murano and contacted the driver, identified as Kyleef Watts. The trooper smelled burnt marijuana and observed signs of impairment with Watts. Watts was subsequently taken into custody for DUI. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 385.74 grams (over 13.5 ounces) of marijuana.

Watts was taken to Troop 5 and charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity (Felony)
  • Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Drugs
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Failure to Have Insurance Identification in Possession
  • Canceled Registration

Watts was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and was released on his own recognizance.
